I’ve created this page as I believe everyone with the right intentions can make a difference.
In as little as two weeks’ time I will be taking part in one of the -if not scariest- craziest experiences of my life. I have decided to sign up for the LSESU RAG Jailbreak event. Which, in summary, is going to be me and two friends escaping from our “prison” which is LSE. We will have 36 hours to get as far away as possible WITHOUT using ANY money. Sounds challenging doesn’t it? But I’d be crazy if I was only doing this for the sake of doing it. So, no, I am not crazy. Before the event begins and during the whole 36 hours of our "escape", my team and I will be collecting money for charity.
Hence, I have created my fundraising page. One hundred percent of the money you decide to donate through me will go to the charity “Teach A Man To Fish”. Teach A Man To Fish helps schools in developing countries create fully functional student-led businesses that are both educational and profitable. Teach A Man To Fish’s hope is that students taking part in their programmes will become job creators rather than job seekers.
To give you an idea, £50 is enough to support 16 children and young people to learn how to run a real business in their country. This means that as little as £3.2 can change one child's life forever. That’s about as little as a TESCO's meal deal… 😉
Let me also emphasise that EVERY POUND MATTERS. Small donations are just as vital to these students as the big donations are.
I am not asking you to give at least £50; anything you can spare will help students gain vital skills, transform teaching and build inspirational schools all around the world. Your donation will make a difference.
Lastly, I just want to say this. The more people that know about LSESU RAG, the greater their impact. So please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and support. It means a lot! I will keep you updated after the event on how the escape from LSE went, on how far we got, and on how much money we managed to collect for our charity.
PS: do not hesitate to get in touch with me if you require any further information, I will be happy to elaborate on the topic.
